Spent four great days showing Nancy the Northern CA sites. Started with the Golden Gate Bridge, followed by - Sausalito, John Muir Beach, Point Reyes, Point Arena Lighthouse, Eureka CA and Monterey.
We really enjoyed this stop, especially the warm weather and blue skies.
I learned on this trip that the Golden Gate is the bay opening to the sea......
The rocks along Muir Beach.
These guys were on a sandbar catching some rays in a cove off of Rte 1 on the way to Point Reyes.
We saw several elk in Point Reyes National Part. We saw a much bigger bull but he was much farther away.
The lighthouse at Point Reyes. We got there just after the trail down to the lighthouse closed.
The cove at Point Arena just a short walk from our hotel.
The pier at Point Arena.
The Warfmasters Inn, our lodging in Point Arena on our fist night. It was a very busy day.
The Point Arena Lighthouse on the start of day two.
Drove through the Avenue of Giants in Humbolt State Forest. This forest of redwoods is unbelievable.
Nancy is trying to help show the scale.
How they survive after fire is impressive.
The Carver Mission in Eureka, now a club for Eureka elites.
You have to give scale. After we left Eureka, we drove south through Humbolt State Forest via the Avenue of Giants again. Nancy had to say goodbye.
